and grandmother of five. I've been married 33 years.
I'm happy in my sobriety and still attend AA meetings
and try to work my program on a daily basis.

Life is pretty good - still has it's ups and downs, but that's groovy, far as I am concerned! (-: No complaints...
Randy and I are doing good - had a major BUMP last year, but I put ALOT of what YOU taught me into play since that bump. It works, lol... go figure!

Not too many of us from NM on here... I love this site, btw... I've met alot of great people, and we have a pretty good time... so WELCOME!

I don't know that I'd call what I do here on this site a "meeting," but I definitely get a lot out of it. I get to help newcomers, as well as learn from oldtimers. I get to meet people from all over not just the country, but the WORLD (really!), instead of just hearing the same thing from the same people in my local meetings. Also, I work 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., & I like having this option available literally 24/7. Overall, I highly recommend the "electronic meeting" as the Foreword to the 4th Edition calls it as an ADJUNCT to one's regular face-to-face meetings. I do have one friend on another site who says (not to me personally, but just generally), "If you are using this site as your ONLY recovery, get off your a** & get to a meeting!" But it's definitely a helpful addition, IMHO.
Mostly what I do here is check out the blogs & comment. Some folks post blogs, but I don't even like to be "first" in a regular ol' mtg. I like for somebody else to start. Anyway, there are also discussions & groups & "chat" & all sorts of stuff, but I don't do any of that very much. Also, just FYI, this is not a strictly straight-up "AA" site. There are a lot of NAs & other "A's" & some NO-"A's."
God bless you for doing your own investigation! Not enough people do that, in my opinion.
So, browse around. Meet some folks. See what's what. There are some other people here who can direct you to even MORE online recovery sites. Me, I'm pretty comfortable with this one. I hope you like it, too. Later!
AA meeitngs? I'm not sure since I never gone to an on line meeting,
in awhile like about 4 years. So what does everyone think of on line
meetings. I sobered up in 1982 aand there were no cell phones much less computers with on line AA meetings. So this goes out to anyone out there.
