Today after our big book meeting. it came up that a man called me some not nice names because he announced at a meeting that there is no such thing as a recovered alcholic. and since he heard me speak i introduced myself as one. i politely aproached…

Hey Brian, saw an awful lot of capital letters on your last message there. Sounds like you got a resentment going on, at least the way I percieve it. There's a couple of thought that go through my head when ever someone in the fellowship crosses ov…

Y'know, I could probably name 20 women who had the same sponsor I had, none of whom are still sober, but I am. I used to hang out at a seedy Alano Club that some of my AA friends wouldn't even go to. "I got sober to get AWAY from dumps like that," t…

Brian why don't we just say it because it's true. Meetings are not Program or Solution. Meetings are Fellowship - nothing more or less. The steps are Program and Solution - period! And it's not just semantics; it provides a concise framework to unde…

Unfortunately I've also been to a few AA funerals... some good some not so good endings. The thing I carry with me is that their story tells me a little more about what I need to do to stay sober. The one person I will NEVER forget was Phil who die…

WE UNFORTUNATELY BURIED ANOTHER MEETING MAKER YESTERDAY!

his name was Dan V. he was 37 years old he left behind an adoring mother and sister. he was one of the sweetest, kindest, caring, and loving human beings i got the pleasure of knowing over the past 6 months. he came back into AA after and extended relapse and had some time before that. Dan regretfully was a meeting maker. he made meetings. discussion meetings mostly and shared and listened. But he was told that was all he needed to do. DONT WORRY ABOUT THE STEPS. LIE IF THEY ASK IF YOU HAVE SPON… Continue

resentments

Sorry Jenny, the site would not let me post a response but i feel this is so important. with any AA member i with some time when it comes to resentments i ask are you and your sponsor working the steps? when i worked step 4 i covered resentments first. on page 64 paragraph 3 it states Resentment is the "NUMBER ONE" OFFENDER. IT DESTOYS MORE ALCOHOLICS THAN ANYTHING ELSE. I suggest anyone struggling with a resentment to read pages 64-67 in our book. I have found after i worked this step i still t… Continue
