Seems anti-climatic and not even close to tthe feeling of my 4 yr sober day.. 57 can be a drag,, at 4 life is all exciting and new. And I am really enjoying it.

About me:

I was born an alchoholic, perhaps us who are doomed from the womb have a harder time relizing that we are sick, as there was never a time when we were well to compare it to. I had to get sober for the first time and stay sober long enough for there to be something to make a comparison to.
And boy was I sick,,,,
3 1/2 yrs I feel good for the first time ever. And it wont wear off or leave me with a hang over. Because it is real..

P.S. 4 yrs this month and in honesty I must admit that coming off a spiritual high does have a hangover but today I am good...

Comfort zone

I am going to be the guest speaker in Clovis Ca. today at 2;00pm... first time and I am trippen. Keep me in your prayers and send me positive energy. It is tempting to write a speach but if I am telling my story I should know it by heart,,,Ya think.
A few from my home group are going to go with me. I do mention this site when given the oppertunity, as you here are a big part of my life in recovery..

those special few

Inmy home group, and I,m am sure in many others . We have some who have touched the lives of so many people, who you hear mentioned time and time again at birthday meetings or in peoples stories about thier recovery. 4 years old

The 14th was my birthday, I did,nt even go to a meeting, I think that I should be doing more with my life. I have definatly fallen into a rut. I am very grateful to be sober and do have days, weeks ,of joy. [Feelings] I remember praying for the numbness to go away, I felt like a zombie. I feel today and sometimes get overwelmed. I can quote the words of Soloman or Bill or Bob all day long, but that does,nt make me a wise man. Perhaps the ones listening to me will think me wise, But the wisest thing I did was to read the books. I dont believe that the written word is equal to the insights that come from prayer and meditation. When I read the words of the wise men I get confirmation not revelation. Revelation comes from God thru life. Step 11

At 4:50am on February 5, 2010, Robert W. said…: Thank you, I am a little scared but with the help of my H.P. God and a ton of faith I know things will be alright. They delivered my meds today, syringes and all and I start the treatment on Monday. I have taken the first step to get plugged in with mental health as some of the side effects of the drugs involve depression and suicidal thoughts. As you know thats a battle I have always had so an increase worries me. The thought of being desease free, no longer a leper is awsome and who knows with the poisen out of my body perhaps my sanity will improve. I am not good at being a nice guy a decent human being or a worthy friend, but I will keep practicing. In my humble opinion tho, the only place a heart is safe is in the hands of Jesus.
