23rd AA birthday celebration
By God's wonderful grace I celebrated 23 years of continuous sobriety May 2009.
This year's celebration was extra special as my newly sober daughter traveled from Texas to give me my chip.
On the actual day of my birthday I was on the phone with my beautiful sweet daughter.
I told her that I had 23 years on that actual day.
She quickly told me she had two months that day.
I told her sincerely and lovingly, "Bear that is wonderful."

Erin Status
I am proud of her for sticking with it.
It is not easy being young and being away from home. I know because I went to a halfway house for the first seven months of my sobriety too. Hassie reminded me that God loves Erin even more than I love her. God knows her every need and knows her better than I know her.

I was just thinking of old times; those sparkling days of discovering how my life could change by working this program. Yes, the past belongs to the past, but without the memories of the happiness, joy, and freedom that I had experienced with people like you ~ I don't know if I would have made it back; I wouldn't have known what was waiting for me here.
