I am a 55 year old who started drinking 4 years ago. I still have trouble understanding what happened and how I got here. I never was a big drinker. Cunning, Baffling that's for sure. This website gives me great pleasure to be able to chat and share what is going on. It's hard to talk to normies who do not understand what we endure as alcoholics.

Many times I would like to chat there may be multiple people on line but their is no conversation this is very frustrating for me. I go to regular meetings but sometimes I just want to connect with another alcoholic especially if I am having a bad day. Do people just walk away from the computer and not pay attention. Example there were 18 people on line I was an inch close to drinking the only person that responded was Jay Unger thanks Jay he kept me sain and sober. Very frustrating Continue

- Hey Joanne I am fairly new to the site and I am not on here a lot. But I have found lapses in chatting too. But that is what that 1000 pound telephone is for. Call someone...even if it is the AA hotline....My sobriety date is 12/5/80....but I remember it as though it were yesterday so I get where you are coming from....but don't rely on the puter to keep you sober. We have so many emotions when we come into the program that some of this is difficult to understand.
